Why Choose Paradigm?

A 501c3 non profit organization with a 15 year history in the winter activity, Paradigm prides itself on creating an
environment and philosophy that is family oriented and professional. Paradigm's staff is made up of men and
women whose collective resume has multiple college degrees, certifications, and excel in their chosen fields as
teachers, stylists, businessmen, and non-profit specialists.
THE NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES
---84% of all performers who marched between 2000 and 2007 went on to earn college degrees
---Three staff members have judging experience with Drum Corps International and/or Winter Guard International
---Multiple staff members have served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit or Winter Guard International
CONSIDERATIONS FOR CHOOSING THE WINTERGUARD THAT IS THE BEST FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Does the program have a formal non-profit status?
Paradigm has gone through the time consuming (and somewhat difficult) process of obtaining a non profit status recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501c3. This means that Paradigm has a formal charter, board of directors with fiduciary responsibilities, and is eligible to receive tax deductible donations.
Is the organization budget and business plan available upon request?
Paradigm has nothing to hide and we are proud of our commitment to financial stability as well as our ongoing plans for the future. Both our planned budget and our actual income and expense reports as well as our five year plan are available to all performers and their families for review.
Has the staff submitted to background screenings?
We have a commitment to the safety of our performers in all areas. All Paradigm staff has submitted to and passed background screenings through the State of Florida.
Is it all about "competition" or is it more than just that?
Many guards can measure their success by pointing to their trophy case and Paradigm has certainly earned its rightful share of awards. But another success, difficult to describe even by those who've experienced it, is the "Paradigm Family." Our performers have gone on to successful careers in their personal lives but still remain part of the family that is Paradigm, something that can be rare in the Winter Guard activity. We have always prided ourselves on a willingness to "take a chance" with a performer who perhaps has not had the background or training necessary to guarantee success. We've found that those who are willing to listen and work hard in rehearsal and at home can achieve success with Paradigm that perhaps would not have been offered elsewhere.
Are parents and guests encouraged to view rehearsals?
Yes. All Paradigm rehearsals are open to the public at all times and we particularly invite families and friends to stop by for a visit. We simply as that you show courtesy to our staff and performers by remaining quiet during rehearsal times.
Is there an up to date website?
Paradigm established our website very early on (thus our claim on "winterguard.com"!). We strive to maintain one of the most current and updated sites in the activity and are very proud of the ongoing staff blogs. We also regularly contribute activity related material through our Facebook page including related articles as well as photos both of Paradigm and of other performing groups.
Does the organization reach out to the community?
We regularly offer summer clinics to students from throughout North and Central Florida. "ALL" are welcome to attend and we encourage participation by students as young as middle school age. Our clinics are technique based and over the upcoming summer months, we will be offering several such clinics in Orlando, Ocala, Palm Coast, and Daytona Beach.
