What do I need to do to prepare for auditions?

(Copied from DCI.org): "In my opinion, the best way to prepare for an audition is to physically get your body ready by running, doing strength exercises, practicing technique, and mentally preparing yourself for anything. Physical ability is important, but mental toughness, ability to cope, and being prepared to learn new things is the most important way to prepare for anything the staff may ask you to do."
How much money do I need to bring?
Our audition fee is $35 and is non refundable but you can save $5 by pre-registering (click here!) and pay only $30 It will be applied towards your 2017-2018 dues if you perform with Paradigm. We can accept cash, check, credit card, or debit card.
What do I bring?
Our auditions are on Sunday, September 24th at
Encore Baton & Dance Studio
400 Andalusia Avenue
Ormond Beach, Florida
Doors open at 9:30am - Auditions run 10am - 5pm
Flags will be provided and we will have a small number of rifles and sabres available for you to borrow. We recommend that you plan to bring your own rifle and/or sabre if you plan to audition for a weapon spot.
If you are under the age of 18, you will need to bring a parent's consent form (also available on this website shortly).
What do I wear?
You will want to wear comfortable, form fitting clothing, preferably black dance wear. We will have movement sessions each day and you will want to be prepared by wearing something that will allow you flexibility and allow us to see you.
What will happen at auditions?
Please review our page titled "What Can I Expect at Auditions" but, briefly, you can expect a review of our movement and equipment technique and you will have the opportunity to meet both our instructional and administrative staff. You'll also have the opportunity to meet other prospective performers throughout the day.
What if I simply cannot attend auditions?
We do realize that sometimes situations arise that will make it simply impossible to attend our audition weekend. If that is the case, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible by emailing paradigmwg@yahoo.com. We will be back in touch with instructions on how you can audition via video (though a live audition may still be required after that).
