Richard Horton
Richard Horton returns for a fifth season in 2017 as a principal choreographer.
Richard has been involved with Pageantry for over 20 years as a performer, instructor, and designer. After his marching experiences with Nease High School, Shaktai Independent, and Fahrenheit Independent, Richard deeply involved himself with the teaching of the youth in the activity.
Richard is a well known choreographer and concept designer in both the FFCC and WGI and his positive and energetic personality with his quirky choreographing style has delighted audiences for years and has captured the hearts of his students. His designing and choreography is best showcased in his long time involvement on staff with Fahrenheit Independent from 2004 - 2011. His strong expressive design and technical training to the members led the way for the team to grow each year achieving many fan favorite shows and national recognition, including a Bronze Medal in 2007 in the Independent Open class. He has also taught several high school through out Florida including Land-O-Lakes, Spruce Creek, Gaither, Auburndale, Bartram Trail, and Newsome High Schools.
Professionally, Richard Horton deeply involved himself in the world of Dance from a young age. He spent extensive hours training through Nease High School, at Debbie’s Dance Company, and at the Ballet Regent South under instruction of Jane Anderson. His strong understanding of competition stems from his involvement with all 3 program’s competitive teams. He continued on to entertain audiences in his many roles working with Disney Cruise lines, Royal Caribbean Cruise line, and in Vegas at the Bellagio. After completing his dance performance career, he dedicated himself to teaching dance and pageantry. His passion to give back to the youth is evident in his students. When he is not teaching dance or pageantry, Richard Horton works for Robbins Properties LLC as a Regional Manager.
