Shelba Waldron
Shelba Waldron returns to the 2016 Paradigm team as technique advisor. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Shelba has over 25 years in the winterguard activity, having taught guards at all levels both locally and nationally. She was formerly the Cadet, Novice, and B class representative for the FFCC Board of Directors where she served for the past 3 years and has been on staff with Paradigm for seven seasons.
Shelba has served as technical director and on the technical staff of several Independent programs in Florida such as the Shaktai
Performance Company, The Alliance of Miami, Paradigm, Fahrenheit and Gainesville Independent. She is also an FFJA
judge and past WGI judge with a focus on equipment.
She is a strong believer in the training of the body as a means of training performers in equipment techniques. Strength and
endurance training are a driving force behind her rehearsals, as she strives to train the entire body in concert with the
hands.
Professionally, Shelba received her Master's Degree in 2001 in Criminal Justice and is currently the Training Director for the
Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County. Her primary responsibility is to ensure that all those who work with youth are given the
resources to gain a better understanding of the children of today. She is a state and national speaker on the topics of bullying,
childhood obesity, substance abuse, and the 5 Areas of Wellness.
